Hello,
I must say I was rather shocked when I logged on and saw I have not blogged since November. I think I have wasted a lot of time. I am sorry to disappoint any of you who have been seeking and I have not been here to help.
Just to update you all in my life, I have had a rather eventful year in the year 2008. It all started back in January of that year. The owner of the company I worked for walked in and called a meeting of the entire plant and told us that the bank was shutting us down and preparing to sell us to whoever would buy us. A lot of people were let go that day, but I was able to hang on to my job until the very last day right before the new company bought us out. I was then laid off and spent 8 weeks or so waiting to hear back from the new company. I was brought back with the new company and all seemed to be heading in the right direction, but then the economy really bellied out. We went from working full weeks to barely working 30 hours to working every other week, to having a month off towards the end of the year (in December). During the month long layoff, I felt called to go back to school, and so I took a job at a cut-throat piece rate factory to make enough money to put into savings ot go back to school. No sooner than I started at the new place, I got reactivated to the old place and had to choose which job I wanted. I choose to go back to the old, because I thought it was safer.
The only reason the old company brought us back was to have us work until they closed the plant and consolidated everything back at their home plant. At first I felt as if I was just punched in the gut, but by the end of the day I realized this was part of God's plan all along. I now had the push to go back to school and had the way to pay my bills (unemployment).
I registered for classes and began them right away. I am now attending Indiana University South Bend. I am planning on being a science teacher. It is weird being back to school after 31 years away, but it is also invigorating. I am still getting used to my new schedule, and family life (I am "working" more now than I ever did while I was working), but things are looking up. I hope to begin blogging very soon and get back into spreading the joy that we all have in Christ Jesus.
Let me know how I can be praying for you all and where you need encouragement in your life. Take Heart for Christ has overcome all. He is the first and the last and nothing is beyond His control.
Thanks for writing this.
